High Adventure Opportunity

Hello, Troop 101.

My name is Jeff Dehmer. I am the high adventure coordinator for the troop. I am planning a trip to The Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.

First, I need to see how many scouts and leaders would be interested in going. Let me give you some information about the trip that you would be going on. We would participate in The Summit Experience. The program lets you try all The Summit’s high adventure activities – BMX, skateboarding, mountain biking, zip lines, canopy tours, hunter’s education, climbing, shooting sport – all in one setting. This is a seven-day/six-night program. It consists of half-day introductory level experiences at each of the Summit high adventure venues listed above. In addition, each group will have the chance to ride The Big Zip – the ¾ mile zip line. Also, each night (Monday – Friday) the Scott Summit Center will be open for activities, fun, and socializing. This high adventure opportunity is open to registered Scouts who are at least 13 years old by the date of their arrival. The minimum group size is seven with the majority being youth members. There is no maximum group size. The Summit provides tents, cots, and all program equipment for the troop. Breakfast and dinner will be served in the Summit dining hall. Shelf-stable lunches will be issued to accompany participants to their daily program venues.

The plan date for this trip is July 3 – July 9, 2022 and the cost would be $935.00 per person. We would have to discuss transportation details and cost once we know how many are going. You can copy and paste the link below that talks about The Summit. I went to Philmont High Adventure ranch when I was a scout. The experience was awesome and one that I still talk about today.

So, if you are able, and are interested in attending, please let me know through troop track or at a Monday meeting.

If you have any additional questions or need additional information, please let me know.

YIS,

Jeff Dehmer
