Scouts,

Please be sure to take a look at where you are in Troop Track and leadership.  This is especially important if you are a Life scout close to aging out.  1 year or less.  Yes, you need leadership for the rank of Eagle.

There has been 2 Eagle books that had leadership errors that I was able to correct.  I worry that there will be a time when I am unable to correct these errors and then all your hard work and chance at Eagle is lost.  Please don’t let that happen for something as simple as 5 minutes of reading or asking a simple question.

For the rank of Eagle  ONLY theses positions of leadership count.

While a Life Scout, serve actively in your troop for six months in one or more of the following positions of responsibility:

  • Boy Scout troop. Patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader, senior patrol leader, troop guide, Order of the Arrow troop representative, den chief, scribe, librarian, historian, quartermaster,  junior assistant Scoutmaster, chaplain aide, instructor, webmaster, or Leave No Trace Trainer..

Not Bugler,  assistant quartermaster, or assistant Chaplain’s Aide.

I know Troop Track lists some other options but you need to go go by what the Eagle application says.

.Also, one very last thing of importance.  If you plan on being elected into one of the leadership positions, take is seriously and do what is expected of you.   Otherwise,  you have taken a chance away from a fellow scout that really wanted and needed the leadership. IF you aren’t sure what you should be doing ask for help.  It is what we, your adult leadership, are all here for.

Thanks,

Mrs. Baker
