Cell Phones and Games at Weekly Meetings

Troop 101,

We have seen a growth in the usage of Cell Phones and Electronic Games at the weekly Monday night meetings.  The meetings last at most 1 hour 30 minutes each week and none of the boys have any reason to have their Cell Phones or Electronic Games at the meetings.  This is a sign of a lack of respect for the Youth and Adult Leadership at the meetings.  I would strongly suggest the boys leave their Cell Phones at home for the meetings.  If they are caught with their Cell Phones out at the meetings, myself or another adult will be collecting them and then the parents will need to come see us to collect the Cell Phones after the meetings.

I don’t like to be this way, but this has gotten out of control and obviously the boys have already forgotten about the electronics usage contract that is required and what it says if you have these at the meeting.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Yours in Scouting,

Scott Smith
