Service Opportunity – Relay for Life Noblesville

For those of you who weren’t able to attend last night’s Troop meeting, there is an upcoming camping/service opportunity available to Troop 101.

Next weekend (May 12-13) is the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Noblesville at Forest Park. Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and is one of only 2 times during the year that people are allowed to camp in Forest Park. All scouts and their families are invited to come and camp. This can be a fun time of just a campout with a lot of fun activities going on around us. You could camp both Friday and Saturday nights (May 11th & 12th) or just Saturday night. And, since it’s here in Noblesville, you can come and go as you need for activities like soccer games, track meets, etc. The time you spend camping will count toward your overnight camping hours as long as you pitch and sleep in your tent.

In addition, the committee has asked if there are any Scouts that would like to earn service hours. You could help out with various tasks during the event such as helping people bring things into the park, setting up tables and displays and tearing down afterward. The event itself runs Saturday 10 am – Sunday morning at 10 am but Scouts could pick specific times to help.

If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please contact Mr. Hunt.
