500 Festival Parade Service Project Opportunity

Once again, Troop 101 will participate with the Del-Mi District in supporting the Crossroads of America Council’s good turn for the City of Indianapolis at the 500 Festival Parade on Saturday, May 26th. We will by setting up chairs in the morning, then assisting people to locate their seats. After the parade finishes, we will take the chairs down and stack them up. We will be in Section 3 on the west side of Pennsylvania Street between Michigan and Vermont Streets which is on the east side of the War Memorial (the VIP section with the TV cameras). This is an activity for Boy Scouts and registered leaders only.
All scouts and adults should be in full uniform and they will earn service hours for helping. Also, if you do not have official scout shorts, please wear some sort of dark green shorts and socks.All scouts and adults interested in going, please let me know at the next Monday’s meeting or email me. I will need at least one other registered adult to go along. We need to be in downtown Indianapolis by 8:00 AM, Saturday so we will leave Noblesville around 7:15 AM. For adults that are driving, there parking at or near the Murat Temple. Once the parade begins at 12:00 noon, we will all find a place to sit and watch the parade. When the end of the parade has passed by at approximately 1:30, we will be collecting all of the folding chairs and stacking them. We should be home around 2:30 PM.
Scouts please bring a folding chair, a sack lunch, plenty of water, sunscreen and hat.
