Hello Troop 101,
It is time for one of my favorite times of year! No, not Summer Camp, although that is always awesome, but a tremendous way to help pay for Summer Camp and the other fun things we do in Troop 101. Namely, Symphony on the Prairie, and more accurately Wagon Pulling at Symphony on the Prairie.
If you don’t know, each summer, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra moves north for the summer to the fantastic open-air amphitheater at Conner Prairie. They play a number of concerts as well as a number of other first rate acts including Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, The Beach Boys, The Music of Star Wars, and tributes acts for The Beatles, Michael Jackson, and Tom Petty, just to name a few.
Conner Prairie has about 16 wagons they various groups can sign up to use to help the Symphony goers move all of their stuff into the area. Since many come with a mountain of food and decorations (I have helped move in candelabras, I kid you not), this is a great service and a great way to raise funds through the tips you can receive for Wagon Pulling. Attached is the FAQ we put together.
Since we are leaving for Summer Camp on Sunday, and won’t have meetings on 6/18 or 6/25, I wanted to get the full list of Wagon Pulling spots out to everyone. As always, since we only have 65 spots, we ask that each Scout only sign up for 1 spot to start so that everyone has a chance. They won’t all fill up right away, but we definitely need to fill June 16th, 29th, and 30th tonight.
We will go over all the details and I will have the sign-up sheets at the meeting tonight.
